While we don't know why Yutaka has a fear of eating in front of others, it makes him extremely happy that Tane not only wants to eat his cooking, but wants to eat with him and spend time with him. While there is a child on the cover of the manga (Tane), he's Minoru's brother, not his child. Not to mention Tane is precious and I'm ready to die for him (middle school Tane is also precious and I'm still ready to die for him at that age). It was super sweet in how it showed the feelings of friendship that turned to feelings of romance on Yutaka's part. Our Dining Table was a good break from the normal psychological mangas I read.
